DVM

Dr. Darlene Berkovitz

A Chicago native, Dr. Darlene Berkovitz graduated from the University of Illinois, completed a small animal internship, and started her veterinary career in the mountains of Aspen, where she also got to hike and learn to ski. She moved to Madison, WI to be closer to family and purchased Citywide Pet Clinic in August 2019.

Dr. Berkovitz has a lot of special interests including internal medicine, dentistry, geriatric/hospice care and all things cat. She is certified in veterinary acupuncture through the Chi Institute and uses a multimodal approach to best help her patients.

When not working, Dr. Berkovitz spends her time with her 2 kids, 2 cats and a rescue greyhound named Turbo. To prevent the house from feeling too empty, she also shares custody of a rowdy chiweenie called Sprout. Dr. Berkovitz is a first degree black belt in taekwondo and also loves to ski, exercise, read and eat chocolate chip cookie dough.

Practice Manager

Heather

Heather moved to the Madison area in 2016 and really loves how community-driven the area is. Heather has been working at Citywide since 2020 and has loved getting to know all of the clients and their pets. She has a menagerie of pets of her own which includes an Australian shepherd, two cats, along with a pair of bunnies, a ball python and a leachianus gecko. Some things she enjoys doing in her free time include building enclosures, going on hikes, reading, writing, and painting.

Certified Veterinary Technician

Annie

Annie has been a certified veterinary technician since 2014. She has a passion for all animals, but especially dogs. She lives in Madison with her hound mix Ritz. Her dream would be to travel and volunteer to help dogs at different shelters. One of her favorite experiences was traveling to Mexico and volunteering for a low-cost spay and neuter program for dogs and cats. When she is not at the clinic, Annie has a passion for writing. She is currently working on a book of children’s poetry!

Certified Veterinary Technician

Brittney

Brittney graduated college with a BS in conservation biology in 2004 and worked in shelter medicine. She went back to school to get her CVT in 2017. Brittney has extensive experience in anesthesia, ophthalmology, and specialty surgery, making her a wonderful asset to the team here at Citywide. Brittney likes to travel, hike and watch the Packers. She also loves the water and is thinking of buying a paddle board.
